We are two obsessive fly fisherman whose home water is Black Earth Creek, WI. We fish practically everyday in season. The information and opinions found on this blog are formed by what our experience to date tells us. But we constantly revise those as we learn more. We won’t give locations or claim to have the definitive technique, but we’ll share what works for each of us through the season. Maybe it works for you, maybe not, but it may give you an option to consider as you explore the amazing cold water playground that is the Driftless.
Bret Schultz (Old Dog)

Bret has been fishing since they invented trout. He has uses every technique for trout on spring creeks. He loves throwing streamers in the winter and grasshoppers in the summer. He still ties the original Wendelberg scud that he learned directly from the master. Fishing underneath, on top, or in the film if it swims, he will catch it.
Gary Cox

You could easily find a better fisherman than me, but you would be hard pressed to find someone who has more fun fishing than I do. The visual aspect of flyfishing is what I am most drawn to, so I mainly fish on top. Not only on top, but almost always with a #18 blue-winged olive sparkle dunn.
